Adoption Procedure

 

F.A.B will not allow anyone under the age of 18 to adopt

 

To adopt from us to will be required to pay an adoption fee, this is to cover vaccinations, neutering, microchipping and enables us to be able to help more dogs.

 

You will be asked to fill in a pre-adoption form this will include details of your past dog experience, your family, home and work situation.

 

Anyone wishing to adopt will need to be homechecked, this is done by experienced homecheckers. Without a homecheck and adoption cannot procced.

 

We will assist and liaise with you through-out the adoption procedure to endeavor to ensure that the dog that you adopt is suitably matched to your family and lifestyle and that you can provide and meet the needs and requirements of a rescue dog.

 

We ask that you travel to meet the foster dog in its foster home. We do not 'deliver' dogs and will only do so in exceptional circumstances and only where all relevant checks have taken place. There will be a fuel charge levied for this.

 

Third party liabilty insurance must be in place before the dog comes to live with you and must be maintained for the duration of the dogs life. This is available at a reasonable cost from The Dogs Trust

 

POST ADOPTION

 

Once you have adopted from F.A.B we will provide lifetime rescue back up, this means that if you can no longer keep the dog, we will arrange for the dog to be bought back into our care.

It is as important to ensure that the home remains a happy, healthy and safe place not only for the dog but also for his/her family to endeavor to ensure this is the case F.A.B will always be on hand to assist/advise and help you at anytime..
